Struck, Franz Von

German painter, engraver and architect. From 1878 to 1885 Franz Von Struck studied at the School of Plastic arts in Munich, then at the Munich Academy. He at first earned a living by illustrating various magazines. In 1892 he was one of the founders of the Munich Sezession. His Symbolist period is of this decade. In 1895 Franz Von Struck began teaching at the Munich academy, where his pupils included Kandinsky, Klee and Albers.
